For the monthly price of £17 you get high speed broadband internet access as well as Sky Digital television and the Sky Talk home phone service. It is a complete package of TV, internet and phone for a remarkably competitive price.
The Sky Broadband that is part of this offer is the Mid service, so that’s up to 8Mb connection and a 40Gb monthly usage allowance with a free Wireless Broadband Box. You get all 6 entertainment Packs with Sky TV, so you can watch over 200 channels of great television including Sky One, MTV, Discovery Channel and British Eurosport. The Sky Talk service that is part of Sky Talk is the Freetime offer that includes free evening and weekend calls to UK landlines.

Sky Broadband – What does it offer?

Since Sky launched its broadband internet service it has become one of the most popular internet providers in the UK. You can browse the internet, send and receive e-mails, download films and music, play games against your friends and much more. There are three Sky Broadband packages available to Sky TV viewers: Base, Mid and Max. The prices range between free for the Base package to a very low £10 for the Max service. Included in the subscription to Sky Broadband is a Wireless Broadband Box, so you no longer need cables cluttering up your home, and a 12 month subscription to McAfee Internet Security Suite to keep your computer safe from online threats including viruses and hackers.

Which Sky Broadband package is best for you?

There are three different broadband packages available to Sky TV customers. Look at the table below to see which fits your specific requirements best:
Base
This is a free service, so unlike the other options there are no monthly subscriptions. It is the slowest Sky Broadband option with speeds of up to 2 Mb. It has a 2 GB monthly user allowance, so it is ideal for people who are not planning to use it constantly and wish to connect to the internet from only one computer.
Mid
This service carries a monthly subscription charge of £5 and boasts much better connection speeds compared to the Base option. Running speeds hover around 4 GB and you have a monthly usage allowance of 40 GB. This is ideal if you want to connect multiple computers, and is well suited for a family system. This is the Sky Broadband option forms part of Sky Bundle.
Max
The fastest and most coveted Sky Broadband option only costing £10 a month. It has a connection speed of up to 16Mb and an unlimited usage allowance so you have total download freedom. This is perfect for people who expect to frequently use the internet.

I got Sky Broadband as soon as it launched and I was really impressed with the Base package. Free broadband to compliment the already great TV service? How could I say no?
A month into it I decided to upgrade to the Mid level service because I decided I wanted to start downloading more music than before and was scared about going over the 2GB limit. The faster connection speed is instantly noticeable. While the free 2Mb option is great, for serious net users try the other packages. The Mid one only costs a fiver a month!
