A new way of watching television
When it was initially launched in the September of 2001, the Sky Plus (Sky+) box signified an important evolution in the slide towards digital television. Suddenly it became possible for people to record and store their favourite programmes digitally, at last it was not mandatory to crawl around your knees attempting to find that lost video cassette.
Fast forward almost a decade and the Sky Plus box is still at the fore of the digital revolution. In the interspersing years, the initial technology has been enhanced; it’s now faster to use, you can store more hours’ worth of programmes and the integrated interface makes it easier than ever to use.
Remote Control
In July of 2006 Sky added the remote recording function to Sky Plus, which allowed for the first time for customers to timetable their digital records from their mobile phones. Recently this feature has been augmented with an Internet-based portal which enables customers to programme their machine via the World Wide Web. So, if there is something you think you are going to miss, then you always have the opportunity to record it, wherever you may be.

"We've had sky plus for about a year and it's just great. At first I was a bit hesitant to as if we would really use "live pause" and such features, but now it has become a must have. The reason we got sky plus was to record movies without having to purchase dvd's or use old tapes. In addition, we have all six entertainment packs so there is always plenty to watch. I would also like to get the premium movie channels, but it feels a tad expensive right now. But otherwise, this is a very good service."

Bring on the fashionistas
During the past few years Project Runway has rightfully staked a claim to be one of the US’s most popular reality television programmes. Aspiring fashion designers gain the opportunity to showcase their latest designs beneath the glare of a celerity jury led by the German Supermodel Heidi Klum.
Challenges are introduces into the show in order to test the skill and innovation of each potential designer. In early seasons this has included having to design an outfit for a specific personality such as Sasha Cohen or Miss USA, Tara Conner. On another occasion contestants were asked to design a complete range of clothing using non-traditional materials. The danger is that if you get it wrong, it’s not going to be long before Heidi Klum gets the chance to waive you away with an "Auf Wiedersehen".
